Amarillo, Texas

Chris and Kandice Thomas, the new church planters for Redeemer Presbyterian Church/Amarillo, have relocated to Amarillo as of July 15th to begin their work there. Chris’s phone number is 806-220-7781. He will be working out of his home temporarily until suitable office space is obtained. The core group of about 30 is beginning a weekly, evangelistic Bible Study on Philippians before the end of July. If you know of individuals moving to Amarillo or have friends there that would be interested in a new PCA church, please give Chris a call.

Edmond, Oklahoma

A core group is meeting regularly in Edmond for Bible Study and fellowship. A very promising church planter candidate has been identified and is in the process of being interviewed by all of the parties involved. Assuming his approval and successful completion of the church planter assessment process, it is possible to have him on the field by the end of the year. Georgetown, Texas

Whitney and Heather Anderson, the new church planters, have completed their fund raising and have moved to the field in Georgetown effective July 1, 2008. Whitney is busy now getting around the community and talking about the new church, Christ Church/Georgetown. A core group is forming with a target of starting a Bible study in Georgetown in the fall. Boerne, Texas

Denton, Texas

A new Mother/Daughter church of Christ Presbyterian Church in Flower Mound, a Dallas suburb, is meeting for regular worship and fellowship in downtown Denton, Texas, the home of the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University. David and Angie Wilson are the church planters. website

Las Tierras Community Church is now a mission church of the Presbytery of the Southwest. It is now meeting regularly for worship and fellowship. The Church of the Cross is now a mission church of the South Texas Presbytery of the PCA. It serves the San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, and Wimberly communities and has an outreach to Texas State University at San Marcos. It meets regularly for worship and fellowship. New City Church/Phoenix is now a mission church of the Presbytery of the Southwest of the PCA. The church is meeting regularly for Bible study and fellowship and is planning to start regular worship services in the fall. Dave and Ann Bennett are the church planters.
